  • We tried Street View in Compass and found it to be very cool, but we couldn't get Street View to follow along with the GPS automatically and that made the feature feel more like a gimmick.

I think it would be immensely useful if it followed along with you in Street View, to be honest.

It is sad though that the phone's battery life is good for only 12 hours and that's with GPS off. Turn the actual GPS on (not just A-GPS) and it drops further.

  • sweet!! i got your code!!!

  • hi i have one and somehow my little sister reset my password now my phone wont let me in . it keeps asking me to put my google account and its telling me its incorrect . i cant dial out but i can receive calls helpppppp

  • it depends on how much you use it..

it's not the best phone battery wise though.

  • how long does the battery live for?

  • You can upgrade to Cupcake (1.5 firmware) and will get the keyboard..

Also if you root the device, you can put roms with better apps and support.. Specially storing apps and data on the SD card instead of small internal memory..

  • Try Android running Maps Google Streetview in Compass mode - you'll be amazed.

There are myriad further advances from that mode that should suggest themselves.

Consider transit info, bus stop schedules in particular.

HTC Dream Handset GPS longitude / latitude and orientation in 3space (tilt sideways, up and around) can be synched with data base of bus stop longitudes and latitudes towards times to next buses/trains/tube-fill etc.).
