I remember watching this. he was voted best male singer, and was very humble as I remember.

I think this footage was where Gary was voted Best Male Vocalist 1980. I suppose the show was a precursor to the now Brit Awards...BA Robertson accepted the award on behalf of Gary as he was in Japan touring (I think) at the time, hence the satellite TV link.........He only mumbled a few words, something like, "I'd like to thanks all the fans for voting for me"

Well ,they try to make Gary look stupid,it doesn't work, Gazza looks very cool!
