That's an interesting question that I've wondered myself. I am an expert horseman with a long list of training and unique jobs with horses. I was called a 'natural' by my first riding instructor and I can't explain it but I've always had an uncanny ability with horses. They are magnificent creatures and they have taught me a lot about people.

Ah, yes! Good observation - I always explain that when I show this video to someone. When I realized these horses were moving towards me I shut my engine off. As they surrounded the front of my car, the little roane colored, sorta appaloosa-looking one right in front started playing with the hood ornament, biting on it and starting to pull on it. So, to stop him from breaking it, I just started my engine. I knew it would scare them off, and get them running a bit. Nice experience that day!

It could be north of the grand canyon. I don't know of anywhere else there could be a band of wild horses in Arizona. Of course, I don't know everything. ;)

Actually these horses live very close to the Phoenix Metro area. They roam along the lower Salt River around where it converges with the Verde River on the east side of the Phoenix Metro area. It is all National Forest there and provides a healthy habitat for them.

Great vid need a little music very low. The horses are so beautiful its neat to see them free I wish the govt. would leave them alone and not hurt them. SAVE THE MUSTANG!

ah. it would be so nice to live in an area that had wild horses. i have wild turkeys and coyotes, foxes but nothing so beautiful as this.

I love to see wild horses, I wish my own horses would know such freedom :D. These horse's manes are not trimmed, they are just short, my saddlebred has a permanently short mane which I hate and then one of my other horses whom could have a wonderfully long mane rubs it all the time and it looks trimmed but it is not, she does that to herself. I wish the BLM would leave the horses alone. I hope these don't get caught.

Not meaning to be a troll or anything. But they look domesticated to me. They're manes are very short. And they were way to friendly when it came to coming up to the vehicle. Its like they were waiting for food. Idk they just didn't seem wild to me.

I hope everyone realizes the timeless majesty of these wild mustangs of ours. What a rare gift we have in the horses. Also, I just finished reading a GREAT book, a novel on the subject of horse slaughter during the 1930s (historical fiction). The title is 'The Last Good Horse' by David Martin Anderson.
