Derelict 'ickle tunnel that runs between Edlington & Conisbrough, South Yorkshire, UK.
Around 1290 yards long, Complete with a number of airshafts & brick-lined for part of the way- bare rock in others., It was apparently how Conisbrough's water was supplied during the Victorian era (I might be wrong on that though- comment to correct if you know more!).

Been through these tunnels many times, with Andrew Jarvis, Alan mead, and most the windmill crew. We know it as the Air Tunnel because of th aitr that blows through them. We used to find our way through them by 'borrowing' a few of the old roadworks yellow lamps that used to burn a wick soaked in oil., they were like a lantern and had a hook type handle. You enter the tunnels close to the conisbrough entrance of the viaduct, there is a sort of steep railway embankment , you get in by ..cont..

shuffling down the embankment and looking for the small gap between some rocks that looks like a railway tunnel entrance. you come out in a field in Edlington close to the old brick yard. I think every young lad went through these in the early 80's.
