It was summer 1963 when this song was on the charts. My folks sent me to summer camp for 6 weeks while they vacationed in Europe. I hated that camp and so identified with the sentiment of this song about getting back home. Loved hearing it every time it came on my transistor radio. Just proves U don't have to be a trucker to appreciate a trucker tune.☺

i'm a real truck driver and HoustonPublisher has showed his ingnorance about driving a truck in a semi you feel every single pothole the truck or trailer hits. a semi would run right over a car but you would feel it i drive for u.s xpress and am 4th generation trucker .
