www.mercedes1951.blogspot.com - This stylishly cozy Mercedes Benz 170 S is from 1951 - the year of 'A Streetcar Named Desire' starring James Dean, of ice skate hero Dick Button and the establishing of Japan Air Lines among other (and the music being seriously pre-rock'n'roll). This video shows some more footage from the outside but also its champagne-beige colored plush interior and wood and chrome built dashboard and controls. The car was in Sweden from new in 1951 to 2003, and was then imported into the volcanic island in the Atlantic in 2003. This jewel of a Mercedes is available for sale. Also see the first video that shows the car's exterior: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3bmNW81J65c

  • @Seattlecarnut yes, the speedometer on the right side...

I have four of this cars, in Argentina was the most popular Mercedes...I have almost owner`s manuals, original photos and others documents

  • @forminera You talking about the speedometer? It's on the left, the clock is on the right.

  • @forminera Really? I didn't notice. I'll have to check it out.

  • @Seattlecarnut very beautiful 170 S...one detail...the clock on the left side and the velocimeter on the right ....

  • i am looking to buy one like this one..do you know anybody selling it

  • Nice car. Why more cars of that vintage aren't driven very often. They're often either sitting in a field rusting to death, or they're sitting in a museum, not being driven; neither of which are good. I like to see cars driven.
