After questioning where money from the sale of a city park was going, Jimmy and Wanda Adams, both members of the Balch Springs Parks and Recreation "Advisory" Committee, were subjected to removal from the board and faced a potential show-down with the city council. However, due to public pressure put on the city from The Balch Springs Beacon and the NAACP and the Adams' intent to have the matter in open session, the council voted to remove the item from the agenda.
