A quick little halyard chantey. Stan Hugill (shown!) learned it from the Barbadian chanteyman Harding. His matter-of-fact note, "It is a pure Negro shanty," is amusing to me! Otherwise, he says little about it, and he is perhaps the only author to included several verses of it. One and one-half verses are my own :)

  • I think only CZTERY REFY also recorded it...I don't know who else. I learned this from Stan Hugill's book, because I never heard any one else sing it!
