ugh, i miss my hometown, but i don't miss those hurricanes at all!!!!!!! it's been years since i haven't gone back to visit.

We Survived another Hurricane, Thank God. The United States Virgin Islands homes are well built. After September 1989 when we got hit from Hurricane Hugo, we learnt a valuable lesson. That lesson was simply to build stronger. I would say that 98% of the home's on St. Croix are built of cinder blocks lined with steel rebar and then filled with cement, the roofs are then tied in by steel brackets & rapped with the rebars, Screws are now used, in place of nails. The Mainland U.S. need to take notes
