Sugar, my dark-eyed clear budgie / parakeet, LOVES his broccoli and parsley (use to be a fan of the red leaf lettuce, but no so much anymore).

What else does he love? BELLS!!!! His Maple Tree toy is a favorite at the moment...well, as it says on Nicole's website, this toy IS for that all-Canadian bird!

You can check out Nicole's products at her website:

(She ships to Canada, the US, and internationally)

I have been asked numerous times what I feed Sugar. Instead of replying in the comments, I will do so here:
Sugar's diet is as follows:
Harrison's Adult Lifetime Mash
Abba 1600 (seed)
Lafaber's Avi-cakes
Lafaber's Nutri-Berries
Golden and red spray millet
Vegetables (broccoli and parsley being his favorite)
Fruits (apples and bananas being his favorite)

  • My Birds Are Scared Of Brocolii:(

  • @MisWickedWays302

The best way to get a bird to eat broccoli (or any new food for that matter) is to be persistent in offering it to them.

  • @SamatranTiger is lettuce ok for budgies? they seem to like it very much

  • @jake17124

Some yes and some no. For example, romaine lettuce and red leaf lettuce are great for budgies but iceberg lettuce is not recommended. In general, the darker the greens the better (they are higher in nutrients).

  • is this bird racist?

    does he/she like black people?

my white budgie hate black people

    but the yellow like

  • @mecamoon

Ummm...lets just say that I myself an 1/4 black so NO he is not "racist."

In my opinion, there is no such thing as a racist bird. Why? Because they haven't a clue what that is!!! For a bird, such behaviors may be due to a negative experience or simply a preference.
