The ingredients for this recipe are: 3/4 cup of oatmeal, 2 Tablespoons of brown sugar, 2 Tablespoons of Wheat Germ, 1 Teaspoon of Fiber-sure, a peanut butter packet, 1/2 cup of dried apples, 1 Teaspoon of Cinnamon, and a dash of salt. When I cook it I use about 1 1/2 cups of water. Happy hiking/camping. Enjoy

  • no offense but something tells me that would give me the runs.lol I wonder if you could add crushed walnuts or almonds to it or just have them as a snack after?

  • @onebigkahuna69 Lol, I would say you can add or subtract any thing you want. Sometimes I throw hot chocolate mix in as well

  • Try raisins in that instead of peanut butter.

  • @saberman12341 I sometimes add raisins, but I really like the peanut butter for the protein and fat content, and not to mention I love the way it taste too. Thanks for the suggestion and tip.

  • where do you get your peanut butter packs at? great vid thx

  • @1885dr I get the peanut butter pack as REI. If you dont have a REI near you, Im pretty sure you can order them online. Thanks for watching

  • @wildmutt1978 You could probably add anything. When i was into bodybuilding/powerlifting we used chocolate meal replacement meals and a a small cup of peanut butter and put it into a blender and it tasted like a reeses peanut butter cup and it was actually good for you and thats a bonus.lol I would suggest to anyone that tries any of these mixtures of ingrediants to try them at home first to make sure that it doesn't give you the runs.

  • cheaper is better , calories are the main target. the more food you can get for the least amount of money times the most calories should be the emphasis . how many meals can you get for 30 bucks . i like your prep work just keep in mind that the more natural the ingredients the better the taste .

  • 21 grams of fat seems a bit much for a cup of oatmeal!! Is it from the p. butter?? If so, Id be leaving that out, course I love plain oatmeal with a smidgeon of cinnamon.......and Im allergic to nuts, so......no p.butter for me, but thanks for the vid!

  • looks good! i can't find flavored peanut butter locally, let alone in those individual packets. good vid
