I think the fact that a debate about the existance of god is proof enough he isn't real. God could easily do something miraculous to prove he is here.

@arecuk1 1. Why dont u have proof against a sombrero in intergalactic space? u cannot prove a negative. 2. No one was there to observe, I dont know, other atheist dont know and u dont know, u believe. 3. Read an evolution book. 4. Gravity exists because objects have mass. Tides move because of gravitational pull from the moon. The earth is turning because it has angular momentum. The air moves because of pressure and heat changes and blah blah blah. 5. Shit, should of read this question first.

And the biggest question, if God exists WHAT was his cause?

When did pointing out flaws in someone's argument stop being a valid debate tactic?

love the kid with the mohawk. good bloke. good job of bringing up the best answers to these claims, even if they aren't all his.
-
I would support this guy but instead of actually fighting back with his debate he is just mocking the other guy. Hes not supporting atheism at all.

@mountainmanbear Even if He performed a miracle the atheists would be like "WTF was that! I don't know but whatever it was it has to have a rational explanation. God doesn't exist remember?

There is no archaeological evidence against the accuracy of the bible. Non-religious archaeologists confirm that the bible events such as destroyed nations and wars were actual events that took place. We have documents of ancient generals such as Assryria confirming the nation of Israel in all the ancient events in the bible. You or anybody else does not have any evidence against any single verse of the bible. Mail me if you do

@IamGarySimpson All someone like me ask in order to believe is to see something with my own eyes, no read about it. If I am expected to believe everything that was written down as fact thousands of years ago, why not follow Islam, or become a Hindu? These books are just as credible as the bible, and by credible I mean, not at all. I'm expecting a personal experience argument next.
-
@IamGarySimpson Are you serious? Have you personally seen these things happen, or did maybe another human tell you it happened? Maybe you read it in a book? Why can't we simply see miracles like this today? Expecting someone to believe the bible is true is as ridiculous as expecting me to believe the events in Harry Potter actually happened. Wouldn't you want to see someone flying around on a broom before you believed it really happened? We aren't asking for much.

@tcgreen11 I think you need to learn how to listen this guys arguments were sound, the thrusts arguments were empty; taken out of thin air.
The guy with the Mohawk completely stoled that speech from author Sam Harris verbatim. And the theist guy sounds exactly like william lane Craig. It's almost as if they're acting out a debate by doing this. What kills me is that they're not giving any credit where credit is due and thus making it sound as if they came up with those arguments. This was almost embarrassing to watch. Sam Harris is one of my favorite authors and deserves all of the credit for this guys speech.

@angelcisneros2003 Thank you for the response. In the bulletins printed for the debate, the general sources/authors for our information were listed. Most of the quotes made by me (theist) were sourced in the sentence. However, I do agree that in some ways this was a Craig vs. Hitchens "Jr." debate. Clearly much of my material came from Craig, and I do not mind giving him credit where it is due.

where did god come from? sounds like some people think something came from nothing!

@shanabell420 Thank you for your response to the video. God by definition is eternal, therefore, did not "come from anywhere/anyone." The argument made is: 1.) Everything THAT BEGINS TO EXIST has a cause. 2.) The universe began to exist. 3.) Therefore, the universe needs a cause. God did not begin to exist, therefore, God needs no "cause."
