ice fishing, broodstock atlantic salmon, little pond, plymouth, MA.

fishing for the broodstock at little pond in plymouth mass. fishing shiners about 1-2 ft under the ice in open deep water. pretty good tactic when the fish have been hammered along the shore line. the salmon like to skim right under the ice. youll notice the top of the salmons head has a scar rubbed into it from bumping into the surface of the ice. i usually fish 5 traps set up about 75 ft apart in a straight line across this place. its just a matter of time till you get flags. i use about 3 ft of mono for the leader, i usually use 12# ande for salmon. sometimes they are leader shy and this is the one trap i had out with 8# floro so had to be careful. sorry bout the language i get a little excited.

Nice fish DTF your wrong about the reason why the fish has bumps and bruises on the snout its from the fish hatchery and the trucks they use to dump em.... But still a good fish Tight Lines to ya
