  • I don't understand how she can be unqualified if she graduated summa cum laude from Princeton and thereupon went on to Yale, served in diverse posts--trial lawyer, appellate judge, etc.--and is honest about personal bias in court cases. Are you saying that Scalia isn't biased? The bastard doesn't get rid of his racist and homophobic views when he puts on the black robe!

  • "They only cry about racism if they perceive it to be against white males. "

    wtf?

This has nothing to do with white males what are you talking about. It has to do with Sotomayor not being qualified for one of the highest positions in the judicial branch. This affects everybody. No one cares that she is a hispanic woman but are offended by her views and arrogant opinions.

  • Some observers claimed that the Democrats also wished to avoid giving Bush points with Hispanic voters. The Democrats hotly contested this; however, internal memos to Senate Minority Whip Dick Durbin mention liberal interest groups' desire to keep Estrada off the court because his Latino heritage made him "especially dangerous" as a potential future Supreme Court nominee

  • yeah but hispanics put american issues as secondary to people of there own race when voting.MATT leader already said that and sotomayor as we know agree

  • "New racism" is old racists trying to re-brand themselves with a bait-n-switch. An obvious problem is the assumption that most people are brain-dead enough to accept those who've been historically discriminated against by racism as the culprits. People who didn't get it the first time around don't get to re-write the terms today, & have no credibility having been fired by the public.

Sotomayor should be evaluated on the merit of her record, which is separate. Racists have no shame.

  • It does not matter what the GOP thinks anymore with their embattled party. But Democrats do no favor by nominating a individual with a history involving "La Raza" radical movement. Please google "La Raza" and read their radical veiws. you will be very suprised. I am a hispanic/latino, and she does not speak for me.

  • Sounds legit to me.

Supreme Court Nominee Sotomayor Belongs To A Subversive Group And Should Be Rejected

  • Let's all hope for her safety that she leaves her "feelings" off the bench.

Nobody today owns or has been slaves.

But we all have a mortality rate.

  • wow the republicans just love to complain

but the so do the democrates

maybe they should try running the country instead of making us all look like assholes.

oh wait the USA already looks like the biggest collection of asses already.

  • Agreed, new racism is no better than old racism. Just because someone is a minority doesn't mean they aren't capable of committing the same acts of racism.
