  • A hatchet at the end of a long pole looks like one of the deadliest weapons ever devised.

Just holding one upright, for a few minutes would take a lot of strength.

The history of weapons would be a mighty big subject if a person delved into it. From rocks to arrows to missles. Humans get very creative when dealing with opposition.

War is the ultimate mother of invention.

  • Agreed Erik, 'man' is very inventive when comes to war.

Those axes, in the right hands, could slice through rider and horse.....

  • where was this filmed?

  • At Battle, near Hastings.

  • If this is Sunday, I'm in there with the Saxon infantry on the right wing.

  • Sorry ceawlin, it was on the Saturday.

True, but it's likely the normans were going to return again... It's one of those inevitable events in history that just would have happened anyway later, especially considering if you take all factors into account.

  • not enough people

  • i wish i lived in the middle ages

  • @grendelsurmom And who says a "mut" can't be interested in their ancestry? Is there some special seat for people with "pure blood"? That means nothing, and it's the same kind of thinking alot of tyrants have used throughout history to forward their agendas. Times have changed, just because you are a descendant of some people who lived a thousand years ago does not mean you are a saxon or a viking or whatever. That was what they were in their time. But it is interesting to know your ancestry.

  • @grendelsurmom Well it's obvious that the people that are alive now are alive due to people a thousand years ago breeding but my argument was that people now are still bickering over heritages and act as if they were there when they weren't. It's okay to take an interest in heritage but why are people even squabbling over it and trying to say who's better than who. If you stuck a viking and a saxon next to each other back then you'd likely not even tell the difference.

  • @Red23791 I agree with you. Besides heiantage is all mixed up England out of Scotland, Wales, ireland has more Celtic history and evidence of celts yet were Saxon? And there Celtic?

  • someone took it seriously and owned a person lol

  • wat a losers

  • @londonpenda i think mankind has kind of an..instinct for warfare because it helps us survive? idk it just always seemed that without warfare we'd be lost because we have so much technology today all thanks to warfare..

  • what are those weapons made out of?plastic ,foam? lol
