The criticism of this album seems to come from the fact that it's a sad album but her delivery isn't melancholy. At her most emotional, it's downbeat. Perhaps she'd moved on with her life and was no longer in the "head space" to embrace those songs. Take this performance here, she seems happy, light and she keeps flashing her angelically beautiful smile. With her earlier performances there was often some passion. Take My Hand etc...
