@Kal467 I am sure, anyway they create new cards every year. For now Southern Islands is the most viable candidate this coming 4th quarter. Try search google about southern islands. They have already taped out it. Hope I could tell you more maybe later

october? how is it suposed to compete with fermi if fermi has been out on the market for 6 months before the 6800 series comes out?

@the4ork Fermi is also 6 months late against 5870 so what is the point, besides Fermi isn't that so much fast but rather hotter, power hungry, pricier... Still 5970 is the king of the hill. But that is not the point here. My point is new architectual changes from ATI coming soon in response to Fermi but changes may happen like Southern Islands will take place before Nothern Islands since manufacturing process are not ready yet, ATI is not on the rush, a hybrid version will do.
