There is also another mod called Mo Foodz and it has A LOT of vegetables and you can have really big farms filled with many types of vegetables like carrots, tomatoes, corn, and much more. :D

Just FYI, mushrooms need to be grown in darkness. If they're in sunlight, they'll normally wither. But with bonemeal I guess you can grow them fast enough even in sunlight.
To harvest them, you have to hit them like you do with all other crops. If you wait for it to be destroyed by the light, you'll only get 1 mushroom back. If you harvest it you'll get caps and mushrooms.
