On May 10th, http://www.350.org joined with Senator Bernie Sanders and Representative Keith Ellison to launch a new bill that would cut $113 billion in subsidies to the coal, oil and gas lobby over the next 10 year -- the same industries that are posting record profits and wrecking our planet.

Almost everyone in the United States opposes handing cash over to big oil, big coal, and big gas—the numbers are in the 70% range among Republicans, Independents, and Democrats. With support like that, we're going on the offensive against the fossil fuel companies.

That's rather broad and all encompassing.

I'm sure you don't want to pay $10 for a gallon of milk, though.

If the government ends its subsidies it should end its regulations as well. We only have high gas prices because there is too much red tape to cut before we can drill our own resources.

They're making billions, they don't need our money. Why do they believe in socialism when it benefits them? Hypocrites!

With the subsidies on oil we're literally paying big corporations to kill us all.

Here we go. We must do this, not only in the United states, but around the world. And we must also do the carbon tax that James Hansen proposes in order to win this war

The Tea Party came to power in the November 2012 promising their number one mission was to reduce the US deficit. Removing these subsidies would bring in so much revenue, we could put a major dent in the deficit. The Tea Party made a fraudulent "debt crisis" emergency in August 2011, that resulted in the FIRST EVER lowering of the US Treasury bond rating; costing taxpayers billions a year in extra debt service, possibly a trillion for 30-year Treasury long bonds. C'mon!
