@Dynastywarrior00 etc so your snake have a rotation of day and night, use some type of hiding place they like to hide especially when young they feel secure preferebly on on the hot side and one on the "cold" side. Use your imagination and get some ideas from others who share there project. Hope this helps..
@Dynastywarrior00 corner. if you are using a ceramic heat emitter or bulb for heating always make sure that the snake has a guard around the bulb which he cannot get off or pass into it, you can see some ideas on the web and also you can see some heavily burnt snakes because there owners assumed there snake was never going to reach there!! - this goes also for the sharp edges I told you before. make your cage easy to clean - plan this good, be sure that it has some light in the day from a window
@Dynastywarrior00 then clean it well with clean water as it was cut from a live tree because of mites or stuff like that, some locks for the doors if you are using sliding doors (better safe than sorry) also use glass strong enough especially if your cage will not be very wide because if your snake compress against the sides and glass it could crack and it could get hurt etc..when building your cage don't leave any sharp edges anywhere because this is your snake world and it will go in every
@Dynastywarrior00 thermometer, thermostat, hygrometer - check on ebay if you find only expensive ones...water bowl, background, silicone - check for non toxic because some when get hot because of heaters will be toxic for your snake, wood - I covered the bottom in formica I can clean it fast and I think theres no need for marine plywood like what I did.. Glass for the front, some tree logs and decorations like rocks artificial plants etc, I put the tree log in 5% bleach/ water for a day and
@Dynastywarrior00 when I was planning my cage I first planned how it was going to be and I wrote everything then I checked in shops or by telephone how much the material costs before buying anything so that I could plan right knowing that I have enough budget for what I need. You should check prices for: artificial turf or what you are going to use instead, ventilations, heatmats or bulbs- depends also on how cold is the weather in your country,
@4200006200 thanks but i already looked all over youtube bellieve it or not but they all are good help but none of them explain the most important thing how much is this gonna cost u kno they always talk about how big it is n all that stuff n never mention how much it actually cost them but i really appreciate the help. didnt kno u lived n Europe lol :) but yea i think i can find somewhere like Lowes or Home Depot to look for the things i need my boa btw as i said is 3 feet long at a year old.
@Dynastywarrior00 Depends on how big is your boa, I wouldn't do it shorter than the snake so that whenever he likes he can make a full stretch...as regard the money, I can't tell you how much it would cost you.. but surely that it will be less expensive if you live in the US. I live in Europe and from what I read you can buy wood for example a lot cheaper than here. you can find some ideas here on utube for doing an inexpensive cage. maybe if you do a frame and back made of plywood and
