  • Oh this is really nice. I'm the girl who singing in this video. I did it last year (my junior year) for the Morgan State University Opera Workshop. It was fun, and it's cool to see how crazy I look when I sing. I have a long way to go.

  • young lady . . . you ARE THERE!

how can I hear more of you?

  • beautifull number of Joplin, a great job!!!!

  • Thank you so much for sharing this! A Real Slow Drag has always been one of my favorite songs ever, and this rendition truly does it justice. Joanna sounds so excellent here. Brava, Joanna!

  • this is good, but do you notice that you pronounced your drag differently the thrid time in the bery beginning? But other words this is very great~

  • This an excellent performance of the best opera ever written!!!

  • GRANDIOSA

  • Beautiful rendition of a great opera!!! And such a sweet voice!!!!

  • When I lived in Washington, DC, The Houston Oprea Company did Treemonisha at The Kennedy. I bought two tickets and went to see it for its 3 week run in DC. It was supposed to go to Broadway after the DC run. After the show was over, there were at least 12 curtin calls, and then they did an encore, and got many , many curtin calls after the encore. I am a very experienced theater person. It was the best show I ever saw. Because of a strike in NYC, it never opened there. Your loss.

  • Thanks for posting this--Joplin Published TREEMONSHA in New York in 1911 but didn't have it's first full staging untill 1972--many years after Joplin died in 1917--this is a very underated and seldom performed opera--TREEMONISHA should be part of the standard operatic repitoire--TREEMONISHA is in my opinion at least as good (if not better)than Gershwins Porgy and Bess--
