Truth and Reconciliation for the Adoption Community of Korea (TRACK) holds action in Seoul on Adoption Day. 진실과 화해를 위한 해외입양인 모임 (트랙): " 미혼모와 입양인의 인권을 보호하자"
(1/6) France has higher rates of abortion and single motherhood than U.S., I imagine because of a less religious influence... and domestic adoptions are always free. Then adoption fees, I think, depend more on the logical of the system which do adoptions. Does it mean that with money it is easier to find children ? Why ? How ? Korea has a full private adoption agency "imported" from the U.S. ... and had problems with the U.N. Committee on the Rights of the Child because of that.
(2/6) Fees of proceedings for an international adoption in France (Fees of trips not included.) can be: From Korea 9697 EUR (local proceedings: 8710 EUR); From Haiti 7424 EUR (local proceedings: 6045 EUR); From India 5190 EUR (local proceedings: 2480 EUR); From China 6466 EUR (local proceedings: 4197 EUR); From Chili 4097 EUR (local proceedings: 2737 EUR)... 1 Euro (EUR) = 1,35 U.S. Dollar (USD) = 1700 Wons (KRW). Why these so big differences in local proceedings ?
(3/6) To adopt a child from Korea in the U.S. by the big organisation HOLT costs around 23 000 USD (29 milions KRW), trips not included . In France to adopt the same child costs around 6700 EUR or 13 000 USD now (In the year 2000 that was around 8000 USD. The American Dollar have fallen a lot between.), and that adoption is also provided by... HOLT in Korea. Why that difference ?
(4/6) We can research in each country "giving" children historical and/or cultural reasons to that, reasons which could be taken as conformists... we look less that capitalism is invading all our life and all our world. This one follows an old colonisation deceiving of and stealing always many countries and peoples. This one uses the very common desire in us to have children, a desire many times so strong ... that makes adults ready to take children without looking where they come from and how .
(5/6) Beyond the debate of the pertinence or not of adoptions, the adoption system in world seems so rotten by money that I think that all good action reducing rates of adoption have to be considered. I'm thinking in all helps for mothers to keep their children. That could be made by sponsoring and/or by changing laws to defend more human rights and to do a real welfare work . That could be made with less egoism and more true solidarity.
FINALLY.
