Jesus Christ can do what he pleases. If he wishes to lie then he must be lying for our own protection. He also has the power to tell the truth because he is God and God is the truth.

@jim4857 That something's "widely accepted" isn't evidence. If Jesus existed, nothing was written by or about him at the time he purportedly lived. No chronicler of the time wrote about a man coming back from the dead, and bodies rising from their graves and walking around the city, even though they supposedly "appeared unto many" (Matthew 27:52-53). Even the books of the OT, of which no originals exist, were written after he supposedly died, and many of the authors are unknown.

Christianity has taught from its beginning that Jesus assumed a perfect human nature, not a fallen one. So He could never lie (or commit any other sin). Christianity also teaches that were are human beings, but that Jesus is a divine being. We are fallen humans in our very essence; He is God in His essence.

what your missing here is Jesus was the only person to ever live a sinless life, he experienced temptayion as the bible clearly states but unlike human beings he never gave in

If one looks at it from the point of view of Christ being "fully human" then the answer is yes. As a human being the urge to lie would have been very much a part of His nature. But just as this urge woulhave been present He also would have had the option to desist-which I believe He would had chosen. I really see no conflict "in Jesus Christ being "full man and full God at the same time. One does not cancel out the other. The human and godly nature exist as parallels-not as contradictions.

@gneisscleavage we can't do all those things because of the limits of our bodies. But we can do all of them quite well after our superior brains have thought it through. Call it more advanced or whatever.
But yeah, we aren't supreme beings.

The ONLY thing GOD can NOT do is LIE. Jesus didnt nor could He ever lie. Just as we are born to breathe Jesus existed before time as the absolute TRUTH! Jesus is truth incarnate. Jesus = Al Haqq = TRUTH = John 14:6
James 1:13 says God can NOT be tempted by evil, the devil himself tried to tempt Jesus & FAILED! All of us are easily corruptible & SIN; xcept Jesus.
Is Jesus GOOD? Yes! Jesus is holy, sinless, pure, selfless, righteous & there4 GOOD. hence forth Jesus is GOD b/c Jesus is GOOD!

yes Jesus can lie. But he choose not to. He told satan that he could send his multitude of angels to get him of the cross but he CHOOSE not to. That is what make one human. Man has choice. God has the ability. Jesus had choice and ability but choose not to sin in order to fulfill prophecy. Where's your contradition now?

Jesus Christ was God The Father's son taken on human form. He had the same temptations as all humans, so he was certainly tempted to lie; however, he did not lie, because he was the son of God. It's very simple.
