The Indri (Latin name: Indri indri), or "Babakoto" is one of the largest extant lemur species. Like many other lemurs (which are endemic to Madagascar), the Indri is extremely endangered. This video shows an Indri in the wild responding to and making communication cries. These distinctive and very loud cries are often compared to whale songs and are used each morning by family groups to communicate their positions to other nearby groups.
