I had electric tape on my pennies so I took the system apart and flipped the motherboard over so it was the same side as without the metal cover and stacked 2 pennies on each ram and layed the iron on top so it sat on the pennies and nothing else for about 22 mins and the system has been running alot better and longer without problems for 2 days now

Today is the 2nd day i've had to purposly overheat my xbox, let it cool, so that it would run as normal. It's been almost 3 months since i've turned the console on though prior to these 2 days. I've already done an rrod fix. What do you think it is?
First off, did you get the diagnostic code? I think you need to hold the controller-scan button on the front of the unit, and then hit the DVD button (there are tutorials here on youtube to do this) Mine was 2-rrod's, diagnostic code 0012, which I fixed, but then got 2- rrod, code 0013, RAM overheat (hence the video). You need to know HOW many red lights are lit, and then what the secondary diagnostic code is. Good Ruck.
