  • how do you add more water to the boiler when out on the water?

  • @LNERRedneck you dont . you have to sail it back to shore for a quick fill up. i guess you could put a little pump with a hose to suck it out but sense this is in salt water its not so good for the boiler.

  • Thanks for putting the video on youtube - now my kids think I'm famous!

  • Cool a steam powered weed whacker.

  • Cool

  • Hi - this video is of my wood burning steam launch "Albatross" (the traditional maritime symbol of bad luck). She is equipped with an eccentric driven feed pump on the engine and a hand pump for emergencies. She has to be fired about 6 or 7 minutes. The feed tank holds almost a gallon and will go for 30 or 40 minutes.

Alas, her all steel boiler has failed (as I knew it would) and I am working on a copper replacement. She she's drydocked for now.

  • Hope you named it "Rosie". Great vid...wonderful toy to hand down.

  • Great model...where is Humphrey Bogat....lol

  • very cool model, it looks like it should be self starting with that many pistons though? it looked like you push/pull started it? it looks like a ship you could ride in for sure!! Cool though Joseph T fly2000jtb

  • fucking sweet man! a man and his tooyzzz

  • So when are you making the full sized one?

  • @pyrocoyote1 why not just run a condenser with a pump connected to the engine to refill the boiler for longer run times
