Thanks for your video. I can totally identify with what you've said. I went raw for about a month & then yesterday I was invited to a catered event, & deviated/indulged for just one meal. Well, today, I've had no energy whatsoever. Couldn't accomplish anything. Just felt like crap. It's interesting how I feel the effects the day after deviating (rather than the same day).Guess it takes a while until the garbage "food" enters the blood system & permeates the blood-brain barrier, etc..

Thanks so much for posting this. I like to hear other peoples feedback on this topic. I switched over to a "liberal vegeterain" and hope to work my way to mostly raw vegan.

We went through the SAME THING.. We're 100% raw but chose (stupid) to stop and eat out (Standard American Diet).... Was a very lazy and stupid choice because we all felt like CRAP for several days!! Sick to our stomach's!!!
I'm REALLY GLAD that you documented this!!! Thank You!!!

Although organic produce is optimal, yes you can do a raw food diet with conventional produce. You may want to avoid anything on the current top 12 list of heavily sprayed produce however. A simple internet search can find out what these are.
Forget all the "superfoods" and supplements and just focus on predominantly simple fruits, a few nuts and seeds and as much tender dark leafy greens as you can handle. Don't eat fats with your fruits either(save fats to the end of the day with your salad).

PUTTY KNIFE!! LOL! HAHA!

Interesting - I have been probably 70% raw for a month and just ate a standard ice cream sundae. It tasted OK but afterward I felt really gross and 'unwell'. I don't want to go back to my old ways cause I am used to feeling better.

Great!
I don't know your name but thanks!
I will use your testimony as evidence to insist others with their health.
People, please persist with low-fat raw vegan foods!
Gratitude!
Wayne.
WOW! I need to check the comments more ofte. Sorry that I didn't reply to you folks with questions.
Some of you are reporting the classic detox symptoms. If you are not willing to go through the hell of detox, begin by just adding more and more raw LEAFY GREENS to your diet with every meal. Over time your body will detox slowly so that you don't notice it, and one day you will be feeling magnificent on 100% raw foods. Hold the acid (protein) foods to a minimum---you need 80% alkaline foods.

great story! i've been 100% raw for about two weeks and i felt great. But, the past couple of days i ate a bunch of roasted cashews and even from that i felt like crap. I've been getting headaches and i feel really dehydrated. so i decided today would be my last day of eating cooked nuts or cooked anything. and i'm going back on my completely raw diet, hopefully forever.
thanks for your little two week experiment it made me realize again that raw and healthy is the way i want to be!

You are welcome. I need to make a "sequil" showing how much I have improved since going back to raw.
Remember with the nuts, seeds, beans and grains, unless they are well sprouted they are acid. Acid foods should be 20% or less of our diet. Eat them with a balance of deep greens and they won't bother you so much. Of course, if the cashews are roasted, they are dead and cause stress to your body anyway.

My husband and I made the same new year's resolution. But then, early December 2007 we met some raw foodists and we simply couldn't wait for the new year. We went around 50% raw right there and then and upped it to 90% by mid-December. We did a 1 meal experiment and were already convinced of the sadness of the Standard American Diet.
We were about to break up, get a divorce, but the raw foods are brining up our emotional issues, weird as it seems, and we are enjoying life again - together.

Congratulations! Believe it or not, that is not at all unusual about your renewing relationship. When we feel bad we tend to take it out on those who are closest to us, to the point of it seeming unbearable due to the combination of physical and emotional discomfort. When the physical pain goes away, we then begin to share our joy rather than our anguish, and relationships heal along with our bodies.
