Australia introduces to Sri Lanka a new technology for de-mining as a measure of support to the resettlement process in the North..
The introduction of the new technology took place at the Presidential Secretariat today. Head of the Uthuru Wasanthaya Task Force and Senior Presidential Advisor and Parliamentarian Basil Rajapaksa patronized. Operations chief of the International Organisation for Migration Mohamed Abdikar officially handed over the new equipment kit to Mr. Rajapksa.
Mr. Rajapaksa noted that the main obstacle in expediting the resettlement process is the delay in de-mining. He said the instruments are of major importance in the removal of the landmines. Those who assist the country in the resettlement should take the IOM as an example and provide them with more implements.
