Ants are funny little creatures. When they hunt for food, they secrete a hormone that they leave behind them as they scout. The other ants can then follow this invisible trail, which is why you seem them all walking in the same line back and forth a lot. Now, the initial ants were probably still avoiding the coffee grounds. I hear cinnamon works as well.
In Texas though, the FireAnts must DIE! No aversion therapy for them.

@luvintherawlife One thing we don't have are Deer's in Anaheim CA. Not even at Disneyland. lol I love my Sun Gold tomatoes. They are like candy. If you take a look at my Tomatoes videos from several months back you can see them growing really well. Thanks for all your kind comments. I'm going to look at the video's for Koral's garden. That's what my normal friends call me. "My Bohemian Friend". lol I'm glad you stopped by. Thanks for inspiring me even more!

Freida, put a handful of that good compost from the bottom of the pile in a bucket of water to pour on the top of the new uncomposted pile of leaves, to make it go quicker.

@Helioforge Good idea, I should have turned it over today because it's suppose to rain hard in starting any minute now. Dang! Well guess I'll just have to wait till next week.

put some peatmoss, perlite or vercumilte and some manure in the new bed, well thats what i would do. Happy gardening Paul
nandpclement 2 months ago
@nandpclement Thanks for the suggestion Paul. I put a bag of store bought manure in the compost when it was turned over last time. I happen to have 1/2 bag of perlite and I think I'll add that to it also. I made my bed to hot one year and grew beautiful tomatoes leaves but no tomatoes. Too much Nitrogen I guess.
