North Korea - Pueblo - American Spy Ship

Pyongyang, January 23 (KCNA) -- The U.S. imperialists' armed spy ship Pueblo is displayed on River Taedong flowing through Pyongyang, which shows the miserable lot of the defeated.

Though more than 40 years have passed, a growing number of servicepersons of the Korean People's Army, working people and school youth and children are looking round the armed spy ship with surging indignation.

The Pueblo is a spy ship captured by the Navy of the heroic KPA while perpetrating espionage acts on military and state secrets of the DPRK after intruding into the waters 7.6 miles off Ryo Islet in the East Sea of Korea near Wonsan on January 23, Juche 57 (1968).

After the capture of the ship, the U.S. imperialists mounted a military threat against the DPRK, clamoring that it was seized in the "open sea" and it did not commit any espionage acts. But the tough attitude of the DPRK compelled them to apologize to it for the spy ship's espionage and hostile acts and sign a document firmly guaranteeing not to let any warships intrude into the territorial water of the DPRK in the future.

Nevertheless, the U.S. imperialists illegally infiltrated the large-sized spy plane EC-121 in April 1969 and spy helicopter OAH-23G in August 1969 into the territorial air of the DPRK for the purpose of espionage and hostile acts only to be shot down by the Korean People's Army. They thus drank a bitter cup again.

After then, they have continued to commit espionages against the DPRK in a systematic way including the illegal infiltration of a spy helicopter in December 1994.

They have held desperate war exercises against the DPRK by mobilizing huge amounts of armed forces to lead the situation on the Korean Peninsula to the brink of war these years after making the second Korean war fait accompli.

If the U.S. imperialists infringe upon the sovereignty and dignity of the DPRK, oblivious of the lesson of the Pueblo incident, they will not be able to escape a shameful death in face of the merciless strike of the powerful revolutionary army of Mt. Paektu with inexhaustible political and military strength.

Its amazing how people of other countries speak of their country as if they are all powerful and how the U.S. would be destroyed. The U.S. has the most powerful military in the world and we dont even think that way.

Capobitch, how is the North Korean nuclear weapon "better" than an American nuclear weapon? Both countries have the weaponry to kill citizens who have litte say in "their" government....
