@1matthew234 you don't. Buy it cheaply off steam.. it's not worth pirating for the price they sell it for.. its so cheap now. But i'd recommend getting half life: source if you're going to play for the story

I remember the chatroom in the original Halflife before steam took over. I used to go in sometimes and talk with Greenling he was from New York, i think there was some one called Princess and someone with a name like XXXJamesSlipnot666XXX. I used to like talking to these guys. The chatroom disappeared and i never heard of them again. i often wonder what happened to them
