If you suspend a person from a large "slinky" would it have the same effect? furthermore, would he/she feel weightless?
-
my guess is the bottom stays still till the top hits it then it falls

Good for you for doing these videos. We need more people like you!

Yes, its just cool.

You're building a portfolio, but you really could work on your personal brand. You need to make Derek Muller a familiar name so you can take what you're doing here to the next level. It's a hop skip and a jump to getting picked up for one of the Discovery sites and then hosting your own show. You've got the talent, you've just gotta get your name out. A proper website about the series would be a good start.

Hey, I'm studying physics and education for my undergrad. I used your slinky drop videos to teach my first class ever which was a great success and confidence booster for myself as a teacher. I was teaching 20-40+ year olds, all with prior teaching experience, pre-service, or were already professors of some science themselves. When they saw the bottom of that slinky seemingly float, their face just lit up with shock and awe. I loved it. Then we tested it for ourselves to check validity. SCIENCE

is this a hobby or it is your job?

Let's say neither. A job pays and a hobby sounds like an amateur pastime. Veritasium is a passion.
