@Shroomasaurus I usually build him kind of tanky. Mostly because, like you said, he has pretty much no damage abilities (Aside from Rabid Bite of course). He is there to screw up the enemy tank/AD carry with his AD/Armor/Mres saps and keep people from running (Or cut a team off from one of its members, making for an easy 5v1 kill) with his pillar of Filth. At least, that's how I generally use him. =)
