As much as I like it in the pan since you essentially fry it in its own grease/fat. I do like the oven more. It cooks far more even, less attention to do it is needed and as little as it may be...my mind is at ease knowing I left some fat behind. Try doing it on a rack/grate and you'll drop the fat and still get nice tasty bacon.
