Leona is a great singer but her voice is too thin. I imagine watching her preform live will be a bore. Mariah has a wider range, a more versatile, and much more control over her voice than Leona. I cannot doubt Leona's talent though, but Mariah is the better singer.

@Zephr i heard them both live(not in pearson) but it's the same,if you sound very good singing live,it don't matter if someone's hearing the live perfomance in pearson or in a video,you sound very good and period,and in studio or live mariah is better than leona,like it or not.

and she sounds really really good live, but not as good as her cd's....

and i thought she was just over-hyped, but when i walked away from her concert at the 02 arena in 2010, i immediately booked more tickets the next morning to see her again, i was that blown away, i thought she was AMAZING, but for some reason, in her studio recordings, it's like her engineers and producers cant seem to re-create that same awesome sound live in the studio so her voice just sounds minimalistic, with mariah its the opposite, she sounds so incredible on her cd's and in the studio

when I saw mariah at wembley in 1996, i thought she was really really good. i remember at some points thinking she didnt sound as good as her cd, but i had no one else to compare her too at the time. I was disappointed on her rainbow tour and her charmbracelet tour, her voice had deteriorated and she started dressing like a ho, wasnt happy about that. but when I saw leona, I had low expectations because I personally thought she was overrated after I listened to her 2 albums, echo and spirit

it is weird, but leona doesnt have the range mariah has or the capabilities, and her voice sounds whiney and nasal like and thin when she belts, but when you watch her live, its like... wow. The youtube video's of leona live dont seem to do her justice, its like you have to be there... It's a unique trait leona possesses, in that she sounds wack on her studio recordings, but absolutely amazing live, with mariah, it's the other way around, she sounds phenomenal in studio, and ok live..

I've said this before, on cd's, mariah sounds better, technically mariah is better, on youtube video's, mariah sounds better, but I have seen them both live, leona twice, and mariah three times, and I hate to say it, but for some reason, leona's voice just sounded more powerful and stronger. I cant explain it because it doesnt make sense to me, but it's how I felt. Leona, on her studio recordings, sounds weak in comparison to mariah, but live, it's a whole different kettle of fish..
