@janvandoedelpuk Good question. Maybe because even a musician has the urge to show off now and then. Or, perhaps because this piece has a certain latin temperamental feel to it.

He is faster for sure but certainly not as subtle or entertaining.

talk about a piece i'd love to play....but never would be able to. oh to be born with the proficiency to play this music without having to slave over it

i like this very much, similar to guiterrez, unfortunatly he makes quite a few slips in the beggining, but a great performance

A very impressive performance by a great virtuoso. Sure, Cuba should be very proud of him .

horowitz hardly had the clearest of sounds, and he can get very sloppy at times due to his radical approach, but he has 'details' that few seem to match. i think this is a more virtuosic rendition (consider the age!) and of course, more clarity. both are wonderful nevertheless.
