  • looks like britney spears...what a sucks

  • my point in all this is that... today america has its third car on its way to Mars. Nothing prevents GM and america from producing the best vehicles, except their determination not to. They need to start building DESIRABLE cars rather than hunt ever cheaper third world shitholes to build them in. Today american cars are what you get when you cant afford what you actually want.

While the flagwaving masses get hung up in misleading Nurburgring claims and forget that GM isnt very american anymore.

  • Their way to modernise and build more compact, marketable cars was to simply buy Korean Daewoos and slap GM badges on them. At home in USA they built the hybrid Chevvy Spark for taxpayers money. Which even Motor Trend is calling a fraud as it doesnt deliver anywhere its projected figures. Obama even forced police to buy thousands of them inorder to boost its sales and keep production running. Their Nurburgring stunts is just a way to take attention away from all this and keep the flags waving.

  • @Aux

Parts here and parts there come from all over the place. The only thing american on a Korean GM is the GM badge. Which is probably made in China. When Obama brought GM infront of congress and asked how the fuck they ran themselves to the ground in such a spectacular display of mismanagement and naivety, their answer was to beg for funds to modernise. Obama forked out 100 billion. GM took their share of the loot and essentially fled the country abandoning 90!! plants in Michigan.

  • @Janusha Fair enough on GM selling rebadges overseas, though to a much lesser degree many cars (at least for the US market) that are foreign and domestic brands have parts from Mexico or China. Though such a lack of production is telling, rebadge sales show that US brands are still fairly strong. I would agree that the U.S's role in production is very small, though Im not sure if lack of American built car sales is due to a lack of interest, or it being less profitable/practical than rebadges.

  • @AuxKipchak

Im saying american built cars dont sell overseas. Jeep is catching up but thats under Italian hands. European Fords arent american products. If you look up EVERY SINGLE GM thats marketed in Europe today, they are all Korean cars with GM badges. Not american cars built in Korea. These are Korean cars with GM badges. Today Gm makes most their money selling Korean cars to China and pickups in america.

Video confirmed ? Videos showing the track and the time. Not the cars.

  • @Janusha

Wait, are you saying American brands don't sell well overseas? GM shifted 9M cars (retaking the #1 spot)in 2011 with 1.75M being US sales.

They even sold 38k out of about 110k total cars sold in friggin Iran. Somebody outside the US has to be buying them. Also most American's think Japanese cars are reliable, with domestics and European cars less so, though domestic parts are much cheaper.

Also the CTS-V 7:59 is video confirmed, as is the ZR1's.

  • And obviously americans love to complain that import cars are unreliable. Its been like that since the dawn of cars. Nothing will ever be good enough unless its american made. Altho, ironically, today few american brands are american made. If you look at how Mercedes, Audi, BMW do internationally, USA got nothing that comes even close. Cadillac is the closest but are not desirable outside of america regardless of faked nurburgring hype with corvette engines.

  • @killajakez

Oh dear... Americans and their misconceptions. You actually believe Ford has their own line of cars for Europe? Is that the angle now? Ford UK and Ford Germany went together in the 60s to form Ford Europe. They retained the rights of use for the Ford name and logo and has since been their own completely seperate company. ONLY americans are unaware of this and think everything under the Ford brand is american. Today they only share dealerships but are to be considered European cars.

  • @Janusha

And we build plenty of desirable vehicles. Especially over the past 3 years US auto manufactures either closed or surpassed many imports in quality.

Buick regal, Caddy CTS, the 2012 focus are just a few examples.
