  • Mike Batie this probably doesn’t matter to you, but just for informational purposes I’m not an idiot. Your statement is a complete copout. If he visited other places but no one knows about it then what good did it do? That’s a poor way to plug a really big hole in your theology. With another big hole. How many people are saved by words that only a few people hear? Then compare that to all the people in China, India, Africa, etc. How does your statement even come close to answering my objection?

  • @Yourgodssuck :: It did good for those people living at the time that he visited them. Sadly, priests of conquering European nations burned religious texts (and people) who claimed that a divine being visited them, because they thought it was heresy and that Christ would not visit such "heathens." This is known to have occurred in Mexico and India. In any case, Latter-day Saints do NOT believe that people who never heard or learned of Christ in this life are going to hell.

  • @Yourgodssuck :: Latter-day Saints view God as loving all His children, and if they missed an opportunity to learn of Him and His gospel in this life, they will be offered to learn of it in the hereafter, and will be able to choose to accept or reject it for themselves. This separates Latter-day Saints from a lot of other denominations that believe the majority of the planet is going to hell simply because of where they were born or the era in which they lived.

  • How lucky that he preached to only two peoples in the world. I guess those blacks and asians were just not important enough to bother with.

  • @Yourgodssuck :: I realize that it probably doesn't matter to you, but just for informational purposes, Latter-day Saints actually believe that Jesus Christ visited other peoples in various parts of the world, but we just don't have their records available yet. In The Book of Mormon, Jesus told the people in ancient America that there were also other sheep he must visit.

  • I appreciate the thoughtful way "The Living Christ" is read as well as the paintings (each worth a 1000 words) that stimulate meaningful thought. I'd sure like to put this on my big screen for our EM seminary class as we study the document. Is there a reason it is blocked from such use? Tomorrow, I'll use my computer screen. Thanks so much.

  • @1KYfriend: I'm not sure why it is blocked, or how that works. You may download your own copy of the video by going to zamzar dot com/url. Copy and paste the web address from this video page and paste it into the URL box for zamzar. It will convert a copy to a video file for you to put on your computer (which you can also burn onto a DVD and play on a tv).

  • I know that Jesus is the Christ and Redeemer of the World. He created the Earth under the direction of His Father, He has never forgotten us. How small I feel to think of being an Elder to the Lord Jesus Christ. How small I feel when I think of His matchless power to heal and redeem the afflicted, the distressed, the sick, the sinner, and the victim. No other person has ever been able to match His virtue, power, righteousness, and works. He will return as He has promised.
