  • I will be seeing this on Saturday May 14th,2011 via HD transmission to my local

theater from the Met Opera House. Looking forward to it.

  • Saw this on Saturday. Everyone got to their feet when Jonas Kaufmann took his curtain call. He was incredible. Terfel and Voigt were also amazing.

    Can't wait for Siegfried.

  • @crusher814 John Tomlinson is also a bass baritone, although admittedly a low one. To me, here Terfel sounds more like a baritone with low notes than a bass baritone, despite that, in my opinion John Tom's high notes are far superior to Terfel's just as much as the rest of his voice is. And I certainly would be interested in some similar artists to John Tomlinson :)

  • @Atkinface John tomlson is a basso profound or low bass bryn terfel is a bass baritoine. If you like basses like john tomlson I have some artists if your interested?

  • My god this is dire! Having just listened to John Tomlinson and Donald McIntyre, Terfel completely lacks any depth at all to his voice, what has happened to him lately? I thought he was dreadful in Tosca as well. And who the hell cast Voigt as Brunnhilde?! Honestly one of the worst performances I've heard. I'll stick to John Tomlinson.

  • so incredible. I have seen it in cinema here. Also "Siegfried" and last weekend "Götterdämmerung". Bryn Terfel is the perfect cast for wotan and Deborah Voigt the perfect Brünhilde. Siegfried was also brilliant. Götterdämmerung lastet almost six hours but time passed b that fast I couldn t imagine. This thing which is the stage is teh best I´ve ever seen.

  • Both are disappointing... are they not?

  • @bottomson Well, I don't even think she does Strauss very well. Her Wagner is puny.

  • @breakaliciouskid786 Lol, the only problem being that he's been married already for 24 years, and his first language is Welsh. But, yes, he is WONDERFUL!!!!!! :D

  • @HeidelbergSoprano.. i love him!.. i wanted to marry him when i first started singing.. But then I realized He was alot older.. But I'm a FANGIRL TO THE MAX!!!!!

  • @HeidelbergSoprano LIKE?@?!?.. If he was anywhere near me i'd JUMP ON HIM!
