not only that they sold electric car battery technology to the oil company
they'll probably do the same with the Volt
do you trust this guys ?

I just love the car,I can go have Breakfest
And pay for no gas,go to the store ect
I'm retired this is great stuff

Nerd debate - fools are debating batteries.

@karn33333 Here's an easy task for you genius, show me one lithium battery that has lasted 10 years and still 100%. Is there even any that lasted 5 years? Now look at Rav4 EV, still 100% today and 140 mile range. Then look up NiMH Ovonic which gave about 316 mile range back in 1997. That's not even the advanced NiMH that's out there today!
-
Here's the facts, and I have shown examples you haven't so who's making what up?
NiMH
-100% safe for the environment, fully recyclable, allowed for air transportation
-Suffers no memory loss
-Advanced NiMH allows quick recharge and only loses about 1% power a month when stored
-Will outlast the vehicle
Plus a whole lot more, only thing lithium has is a better capacity thus doesn't take as much room but only lasting a few years negates even that. Why also is lithium banned from air transport???

@karn33333 Again you're wrong, as I just mentioned look up LSD NiMH and you'll see they are a better choice for long term power storage. Plus now there's quick charge NiMH batteries as well. After 5 years of use NiMH will still be at 100% as proven with the old NiMH in Rav4 EVs. Get your facts straight.
-
@karn33333 You need to get your facts straight, look up LSD NiMH! They only lose about 1% power a month when being stored. Which lithium can beat that? Lithium may be smaller but you'l always have to keep it charged, it DOES have memory affect and you'll need t replace it after a few years. NiMH is 100% safe, recyclable, maybe 15% bigger and will outlast the car itself!

so lets recap I'm a "puppet" because I'd prefer a different battery then you. Then I'm a dumb ass because you make a list of things you "know" about the li ion battery which just happens to be incorrect or down right misleading. for example "I know the second lithiums are made they start to degrade". in what way do they degrade? or degrade any dif then any other battery? so maybe if you'd stop sucking NiMHs cock you could spend that time to actually look up facts instead of making them up.

yes li ion batteries last 3 - 4 years while NiMH last up to 15 years how ever since NIMH loses capacity at a much higher and faster rate it won't be much use to anyone if your car gets only five miles for every 6 to 8 hour charge. so after you use the NiMH for a 5 years the performance takes a major dive. while li on polymer batteries are using new cells making it possible to get 90% charge in 10 minutes. also my laptops battery has never exploded.
-
One of the major advantages of Li Ion batteries is their power to weight ratio, which easily exceeds that of NiMH for a lighter, smaller power supply. yes NiMH can but be made in virtually any shape but they are still heavier then the same shape and size of a li ion b. Unlike NiCad and NiMH, li ion batteries can be stored for 1 or 2 months without significantly losing charge. actually its the li ion that dont have memory loss its NiMH that does get your facts streight. god damn.
hundreds of fully-functional, highly-regarded ev-1's were destroyed by this very company just a few years ago. i find that offensive.
