What a nice guy! It's apparent how much he loves music and how grateful he was to people like Dick Clark for the opportunities they gave him. First heard Robert's version of "Blowin in the Wind" on wvkr, Vassar College radio just a few years ago and still think it's the best version of that song I've ever heard. I'll always regret that I never got to see him live. Would've loved to sit down with him, have a beer and listen to him talk about rock 'n' roll.

There was a time when I believed I was meant to play with Robert. Years later, my belief was realized and I played in his band and recorded the Darling album with him. It was a wild ride, and I still believe it was meant to be. I love you, Robert. Thanks for the opportunity. I hope you're with me tonight as I'm flying over Heaven. Rest in peace.

saw Robert play at JFK memorial stadium in the early 80's. Robert and the Heroes also played after a Phillies game that my dad took me and my brother to. Things got way out of hand at the concert people throwing chairs and the security guards just watched the concert. Great stuff. I can't believe he's gone. I only wish I could have seen him play one more time.
