Pregnancy Vlog. My feelings on Gestational Diabetes. In this video I show you how I check my blood for sugar, my weekly routine, and just how I feel. I'm sure that some women feel great about seeing their baby's every week, twice a week with an ultrasound but I don't. I've done some research and would feel better if I didn't get checked so much. I think that checking for Kick counts is enough and If I didn't feel the baby move a lot than I would feel it be necessary for the ultrasounds and monitoring. These are my own personal feelings and I would never tell a women that she shouldn't do the monitoring or that it's wrong to do it. It's a personal decision that every women must make on their own.

  • how far along were you in this video?

  • @danielle002599 I was pretty close to having my son. Probably 9 months. :) I don't check this channel much so I'm sorry for not responding sooner.

  • I TOTALLY agree with you about all the medical charges. I just got diagnosed for GDM as well and I've been working hard at keeping my blood sugar down and everything. To be honest, I don't think I need to be on this because my levels are low anyway (higher than most, but not THAT high) -- I feel they just diagnosed me with GDM just for the sake of being able to make more money. Now, not only am I seeing my OB/GYN, but I also have to see a Perinatologist AND a nutritionist.

  • @themackulit Oh Noo... I'm so sorry that you have to go through this. I'm a big sweets person and not being able to touch candy or bread was so difficult. Well, actually we can eat it but in moderation but I so wanted to give into my cravings and just eat eat eat. LOL I think some women need the monitoring but I was controlling my sugar so I didn't see the need for all the monitoring. I hope everything goes well with your pregnancy. When are you due? So excited for you love!

  • I soooooo agree with you, on having an ultrasound done like every week. I seen your other videos and you are about 35 weeks right? Baby is already formed. There is no need to have so many ultrasounds and yes insurance gets billed for all that. I just had a baby girl. i gave birth in july i also have a 5 yr old boy. And i had them at a birthing center as well. Dont worry! everything will be just fine. Congratulations!

  • @eljaramillo84 Thank you so much. I really appreciate the support. I'm so excited about having my baby at a natural birthing center. I'm looking forward to everything that moment has to offer including the birthing waves. :) Congratulations to you too! I'm sure your baby's are beautiful.

  • Wow ive got GD, and I didn't have any of this extra testing and monitoring. I dont blame you for thinking theyre money grubbing! my numbers are lower than yours ( 75 fasting, moved into 90) but ive never even been offered medicine (because I dont need it!) BUT, the light at the end of the tunnel, you know your baby will come out healthy and the diabetes will (most likely) go away. :)
