Todays DSLRs feature such amazing low light image quality that flash photography can become an afterthought. But photographers would be remiss to ignore the creative options that flash can unlock. The Camera Store's Chris Niccolls shows you how to take advantage of bounce, diffusers, and proper exposure to create more natural, appealing flash photography.

  • How can a find a perfect flash or which you recommend me for a Canon T2i? Thanks

  • @CANDYYASOL I recommend the Canon 430EX II if you are looking to use the techniques in this video and keep the weight (and price) down.

  • and if i may, can you make a tutorial on bokeh and how different focal lengths achieve different effects such as the 35, 50, 85 fast prime lenses. and the different techniques/lenses used to achieve bokeh for face portraits, full body portraits, or capturing couples. Mind you, I dont have a dslr yet, trying to save up, but I would like to learn.

  • @bearmode A Depth Of Field tutorial is one Chris and I are interested in doing. Until we have a chance to put it together though, remember that longer lenses (Higher mm focal lengths) will have shallower depth of field (more bokeh) when used at the same aperture. A 50mm prime is a great inexpensive way to start.

  • AMAZING VIDEO! This vid deserves more views to teach folks like us! You answered A LOT of my questions regarding flash photography especially the final bit. I always thought it was to do with shutter speed, apparently not so much! Thanks a lot! Subscribed! =D

  • Thank you for breaking it down like this! I've asked questions about flash before, but the answers only served to confuse me. Your breakdown on aperture, ISO and shutter speed truly helped me grasp how to use this tool. Great video!
