This early research at the Human-Computer Interaction Lab shows six different touchscreen based toggle switches allowing the control of two state devices. The user interfaces, ranging from button to sliders and rocker. The designs that require a sliding motion are safer to use when inadvertent change cause problems (which explains why devices such as the iPhone use a slider to unlock the phone).
