its not considered rude... its of an older tradition to wait until the end of a performance to show your appreciation as it might disturb the performance... but that is thing of the past, and especially with pop cultural music such as film music... and trust me, as a professional musician, we appreciate getting a "rock star's" acceptance... sure does beat the hell out of the snooty, conservative boring types that you have to put a mirror under their nose to see if they are alive.
