@erwigfilms The authors are J.R.Morton and L.Armstrong. The first record was of Johnny Dodds's Black Bottom Stompers (L.Armstrong plays cornet) in april 1927. From this session we know today two takes from Wild Man Blues. Some weeks later, in may 1927 Louis Armstrong's Hot Seven recorded again this piece but at this time the result was a masterpiece with one of the best Satchmo's recorded solos. In july of the same year J.R.Morton recorded his version with the Red Hot Peepers

I think it was Jelly Roll Morton in 1927. That was when he recorded it for the first time.
