@543693The Dear Marie: Thank you so much for your kind assessment and appreciation of this video. The composer Aaron Copland captured the spirit of the Old West and of American country life like no other. Warm greetings from your friend, Gilda
@cashstore1 According to Wikipedia, in 1962 it became Bodie State Historic Park. The California State Parks' ranger station is located in one of the original homes on Green Street. The harsh winters may also have helped to keep Bodie well-preserved. However, recently, squatters have begun to set up illegal residence in Bodie, defacing historic property and performing illegal activities there. Not even the ghosts can keep them away.
I like walking through Ghost towns. This one must have someone looking after it, or it's on private land. Vandals and thieves really mess them up. The ghost towns of Northern Michigan, are from the lumber days. As the trees were depleted from an area, they would move operations, and leave ghost towns. Many of them. The ones out West are much better preserved with the dry climate. I recently visited the one at Mogollon in New Mexico. That one is well preserved. Mining of course.
