  • Its weird how the 1200 models spin after the wash - my nana's WM25 - 1000 version of this model - only distributed after the wash and would only start spinning after the 1st rinse

  • @jps1988 Oh! Thought they all spun after wash!

But, probably cause it is a slower spin!

  • @glenfieldmathk1 Nah they didn't til the WM60 series.... no other older Hotpoint I've seen even one like yours has spun after the wash lol. How bizarre :p

  • @jps1988 oh it's strange then

Yes the notch thing could be why, mine has short gaps between cottons 40, 60 & 95, other models have big gaps, this is because the timer on mine knows what you started the machine on, and carries out the main wash in the big section for whatever you started, 60 & 95 you get intense rhythm, 40 you get normal ect!

When it is at 1100rpm the timer moves ever so slightly and it speeds up to 1200, sometimes it moves to much and skips the 1200rpm

  • @glenfieldmathk1 Saying that, the 1200rpm models always had different timers - they had the 30 degree cycle, and also an extra notch on the spin dial which was for the 1200rpm pulse spin - so that could explain why

  • @jps1988 Yes the 30 silk program was squashed on, meaning the gaps between cottons are shorter, but the dial is more advanced than some Old Hotpoints!

  • @jps1988 I didn't know that! Thanks for the info.

  • @hotpointlover Yes but the WM50 series were sold alongside the WM60s, so that probably explains as to why

  • @jps1988 Our WM53 spun after the wash on cottons.

  • what detergent do you use?
