An initial tabletop review in 2009: The Sig P250 Is a lightweight sidearm that offers an impressively light and smooth double-action only trigger. That is a good and bad affair, depending on your point of view. The good is that it provides a trigger more resilient to accidental discharge and a consistent pull (I say good gun handling prevents Ads). The bad is that, as a DAO affair, it requires good trigger skills to achieve high accuracy. A lot can go wrong with your sight picture in a long double action trigger pull. And being a service pistol, this gun could be called upon to make longer range shots, maybe 25 yards or beyond. Remember options are good and having a gun that can readily so such a task, in this POU, is advised. For me, I prefer the traditional DA/SA Sig trigger for its higher rates of fire and accuracy. Either type can be mastered and shot well with practice however. The P250 is receiving good reports from users in regards to its accuracy and reliability but it really needs to be adopted and used heavy by a PD to achieve the rock solid track record of the P220/225/226/228/229 line. It is offered in a variety of calibers (9mm compact version shown). The fire control group comprises the actual serial numbered gun and can be swapped into different sized frames and varying slide lengths. This could be an expensive proposition though as you would have to at least buy another frame. And complete caliber switch out kits are almost as much as the $600 gun (approx). As stated in the vid, the interchangeability of the P250 (and other designs) is oversold and most users will simply leave it exactly in the configuration they purchased it in. That's a good thing though because the design has lots of pluses: excellent ergonomics (great grip shape), good checkering on the polymer, fast and easy fieldstrip, good sights, simple controls, good mag release button, high firepower (up to 20 rounds in the full size!), and a superb 25 ounce carry weight. The gun is impressive on most accounts. The deal maker or breaker for most will be the high price tag (more than a Glock and many others) and the DAO trigger. If you find yourself cool with those points, the P250 will probably impress you as well. . ///////////// Nutnfancy Likeability Scale: 10 of 10 at lower pricing levels (updated Feb 2012 after much shooting....see my video "Sig P250: Hall of Famer by Nutnfancy" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OnCxJbxlikw )

  • Love the P250 full and this year got a compaq P250 since I discovered how NICELY I can hit things with Left or Right hands (hell, both at the same time for that matter) with this particular gun! Two hands == Two of the same guns;)

I spent about $650 last year. This year $440 (night sights on both). My only regret is I wish I would have bought both this year (LOL) and saved $200 but then again they were out of full size so I had to go compaq. A lighter/short pull would be ok un-needed though.

  • 529 im buyin tomorrow love this gun ill proudly ride it right along with my range officer thanks for the vids ur great at what u do i dont care wat she says.lmao

  • @nutnfancy Couldnt agree more, love this gun. .40caliber and have about 6-700 rounds through it with no hiccups.

  • i like the look of the P290, Nut'n i know u said u didnt like it but could u please shoot and review it. Im australian army infantry with a background in private security and law enforcement~

  • I got a chance to shoot one of these a month ago. I agree with you. The trigger is very good for DOA and the gun is very accurate. I shot the compact version and would recommend it. I'm not a DOA fan in general and I love the grips on the XDM. I could easily deal with the P250 however and would feel confident and well armed with this handgun. It wouldn't be my first choice for my spending money but if the price were right or if it were an issue gun I could easily deal with this pistol.

  • Nutn, I've carried this in .45 for about a year. Great all around gun.

  • @nutnfancy how do you know if you have a gen 2 version, I bought my sig p250 4 days ago and it has a manufactor date of july 2011

thanks for any info and i love the video

  • It passed my trials, lol. Been my main carry gun, replacing my Glock, for the last year or so. Shoots like a dream.

  • @mrrightwing1000 They never actually did. Didnt pass field office trials.

  • Nutnfancy. Do you get items "provided" to you by manufacturers for review? I hear you saying in you videos all the time how expensive things are. Which they are. But i would think some manufacturers would be jumping at the chance for honest thorough reviews.
