This is so true. I am watching this video when I should be writing an essay which is due in less than 12 hours.

Like muscles, the brain is also a "use it, or lose it" faculty. Without structure and extrinsic motivators, I easily fall into modes of distractibility and tangents. I personally think it has a lot to do with getting lost in "the information dimension", which the internet captures perfectly.

Internet addiction is real. It is only human to be curious and visual. For those with dopmine deficiencies, it surely fits the bill. My best piece of advice is to get involved in reality and set deadlines.

Yup, I guess you're the expert, knowing more than Dr. Barkley, me, and the others. Hey, I remember what it was like being 18 too...just consider this: you are here, watching these videos and making comments. Part of you know that you have unfinished business with ADD/ADHD.

Just consider yourself lucky that at least this info is now available for you when you find it more relevant in your life. And if you're here, it is a when, not an if.

We need real-time skills not only to manage our time and tasks, but to manage the sense of overwhelm that comes up when yet another 'failure' echoes among the thousands of other negative experiences that we carry around subconsciously.

I have found that Faster EFT: watch?v=JBA5HJqcTa0 is a great way to clear the past that really bogs me down.

This condition is real, and it's a real bitch. I'd also suggest getting a support group going - people without it just can't know what we deal with

Dude, you are young and naive. Pills don't teach skills but until you live a little, try having a steady job for several years, a steady intimate relationship for several years, growing responsibilities, you don't have a FUCKING CLUE what you are talking about.

Being smart is less than 1/2 the battle: I scored in the 95th - 98th percentile, graduated Magna Cum Laude with a 3.8 GPA from college, etc. I'd much prefer to be 50th percentile and not have ADD.

I wish you well, but STFU already.

try to forget for a second about medicating children with adhd. i agree some parents are too quick to medicate their children, but this can be a lifelong problem that can cause complete disintegration of ones life over time. to say add does not exist is a hurtful comment to many including myself.
